Rand Heer founded Alight in 2003.
After building a series of prototypes, Rand hired a team of dedicated developers who started cranking out new builds for design evaluation and usability testing.
The architectures for rollups, creating line items, linking, and report writing were designed and tested early on. Alight Training and Alight Profiles were added and perfected after extensive usability testing.

We also wanted to give Alight analysis capabilities that positioned the product as more than simple budgeting. We therefore designed in a package of analysis features not commonly implemented in financial software: stage based planning, goal seek, tops-down adjustments, impact analysis, key measures, and intelligent graphing.
Alight continues to aggressively develop Alight Planning, improving performance and including new features requested by our customers. The Alight Forum is our major venue for hearing what customers have to say about our products. |
